The printed guide is almost ready for printing and distribution!
Our Local Roots Guide is a comprehensive list of producers, farmers, retailers, restaurants, and other ag resources in the SLV and greater foodshed. It spans all six SLV counties, and surrounding areas including Salida, Canon City, Pagosa Springs, Huerfano County, and Taos County. We list businesses by county and by category. In order to be included in this guide, businesses must carry some locally sourced products.
Each listing includes business names, descriptions, contact information, and what products are available. Businesses are also encouraged to add photos that represent their offerings. We highlight production practices such as organic, regenerative, or sustainable, among many others. This guide is meant to support and improve resource navigation, accessibility, local food sourcing, and economic development. It is an ongoing resource that we hope to expand in the future. We intend to distribute the paper copies to businesses included in the guide and update our online database for easy access.
