MoKi & Local Foods Local Places

What We Do

Find Us at Farmers Markets

The MoKi serves a unique local dish each week at the Alamosa (Sat) and Monte Vista (Fri) Farmers Markets. Purchase a freshly prepared meal or ask about a sample! Volunteers are always welcome; extra hands makes the effort much easier on the chef. Photo (and header photo) copyright Will Widmer 2021, courtesy of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Radio Show

Tune in to KRZA on the third Thursday of every month at 8:30 am for our monthly radio show that highlights someone doing active work in our local community.

Catering

Want a local food option at your event? Our MoKi can help you provide delicious meals. Call (719)580-5977 to inquire about catering. Photo courtesy of Western State Center.

About Us

In 2017, a diverse group of over 60 community stakeholders gathered at city hall to create a robust action plan around promoting local food systems and vitalizing the community via local foods, recreation, and art. The Mobile Kitchen AKA “MoKi” was created as part of the Local Foods Local Places initiative. By serving delicious, fresh meals made with all local ingredients, this project aims to increase access to SLV-grown foods and inspire seasoned chefs and rookie foodies alike to experiment with healthy, local options.

Local Foods Local Places Stakeholder Meetings

Every month, diverse voices in the community gather to share stories, resources, and ideas related to the local economy. If you want to be a stakeholder, reach out to us! View 2019 Action Plan!

Donations help pay for ongoing maintenance and supply costs. Also, extra funds allow the MoKi team to provide meals to those who cannot afford them. *When making a donation through our Colorado Gives page, please specify that you want the funds to be contributed to the MoKi.
